Who we are
Redcar Patios is a local patio business working along the coast and inland, from Redcar, Dormanstown and Marske to Saltburn, Skelton, Brotton, Loftus and Guisborough. Patios and garden paving are all we do.
The houses here vary a lot, and so do the gardens. Saltburn and the older streets of Redcar have handsome Victorian houses that suit a riven sandstone terrace. The 1930s and post-war semis across Redcar and Dormanstown usually have long gardens with room for a generous patio and a path down to the shed. The ground changes too, from sandier soil near the sea to heavier clay on the higher ground towards Skelton and Guisborough, and the base we build is set for what we find.
What we do
- New patios in porcelain, Indian sandstone, slabs and paving and resin.
- Garden paths and steps connecting the house, patio and garden, with steps where the ground rises or falls.
- Garden walls: low walls, raised beds and retaining walls in brick or stone.
We don't do driveways, fencing or decking. Staying with patios keeps our focus where it should be.
How we work
- A free site visit. We come out, look at the garden and talk through what you'd like, how you use the space and which materials suit it.
- Measuring and levels. We measure up, check levels against the house and the damp-proof course, and work out where rain will run. Near the sea, we also think about wind, spray and salt when it comes to materials and joints.
- A quote. Free, with no obligation to go ahead.
- Groundwork done right. Dug out to depth, a compacted crushed-stone sub-base, slabs on a full mortar bed and a fall away from the house.
- A neat finish. Joints filled, edges and lawn lines made good, the site left tidy and the waste taken away.
